Pest control plays a vital ole in the production of safe products. All areas of the site are covered by the pest control contract operated by a licenced contractor. A site plan/map is in place . Traps to be positioned along the perimeter wall fence, packaging store and in the offices. Records kept with respect to date, bait trap and action required.

PEST PREVENTION RESPONSIBILITIES
Farm management responsibility
The site management should take responsibility for preventive pest control
A nominated site nurse will be accountable for pest control.
PEST CONTROL CONTRACTOR RESPONSIBILITY
Personnel with suitable training, qualification and experience of pest prevention will carry out inspections and treatments for pests.
PEST PREVENTIONS SYSTEMS
The contractor should be operating a pest prevention system, together with the site management. The system should include inspections for all pests and covers the whole site.
PEST CONTROL CONTRACTOR RESPONSIBILITY
Ensure inspectors check the entries site for evidence of pests and during each routine inspection including the perimeter, all ancillary buildings such as service and other non- packing areas and high and low levels of the structure.
As part of these routine inspections, inspectors should inspect all bait traps and monitoring stations, they should replace traps as necessary and bait traps.-
