- The truck must be precooled to < 10
°c prior to loading start.
- Ensure boxes are properly labelled with correct information
- QC 4 to positively release packed flowers having attained a temperature of 2 – 5
°c
- Handle boxes gently to avoid flower movement within boxes . Boxes should be loaded in an orderly manner to avoid any damage
- Ensure boxes are oriented properly
- Ensure door seals are in good condition to maintain temperature during transit.
- Loading should be done in covered bays protected from outside weather or a proper airtight dispatch that enable blowing cold air to the truck
- Loading process should take the shortest time possible leaving some space at the top for air circulation
- Indicate departure times and temperature on the delivery notes.
- Flower packing summary form should be completed, details confirmed by packing supervisor and loader both of whom countersign and E-mailed to freight handler, a copy is sent with the driver.
- The packhouse manager or assistant packhuse manager confirms the flower count and destination and authorizes dispatch.
