Precise Flowers – Boxing procedure

  1. Flowers boxing is based on the FIFO system ( First – in – first – out)
  2. Check the product temperature to be 2 – 5°c by sampling at least 5% of the product batch
  3. Pack flowers in to boxes as per specification: > Pack rate & > Variety – Provided in the order control sheet.
  4. Pack bunches in a staggered method to achieve required fit per box and

> To avoid movement in the box> Flower heads a distant from box ends but SFK touch box ends
> Minimum cleansing of sleeves

5. Strap the box with outer straps at both ends securely and neatly
6. label boxes with box end labels indicating:
> Shipment number

> Variety
>Length of stems
> Number of stems

> Farm Name

7. Arrange the packed boxes at the cooler vents to cool flowers to <

5°c , check the temperature by probing the middle of the box and record 8. Hold packed boxes in the dispatch cold store at a temperature of 2 – 5°c awaiting dispatch loading
9. Box packing QC to carry out quality inspection on at least 5% of the packed product & record observations.
10. Fill in record form QC 4 to indicate the, quality, number of boxes packed and number loaded on to the truck
