Key Responsibilities (Under Supervision)
– Team Support & Scheduling:
– Maintain muster rolls, track attendance, and assist in planning leave and cover.
– Training & Development:
– Participate in and eventually assist in training on crop husbandry, pest/disease identification, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
– Maintain a personal training log.
– Operational Assistance:
– Execute weekly work plans including planting, bending, de-suckering, bud removal, harvesting, loss counting, and clearance.
– Quality & Crop Protection Exposure:
– Assist with stem inspections and quality control.
– Support IPM scouting and pest/disease management routines.
– Hygiene & Equipment Maintenance:
– Maintain field cleanliness and organization.
– Track and return tools and protective equipment, reporting any issues.
– Cross-Department Coordination:
– Shadow irrigation, maintenance, and post-harvest operations; assist in raising job cards.
– Reporting & Communication:
– Draft daily field activity logs.
– Present a weekly report summary to the Production Manager.
Qualifications & Experience
Education:
BSc in Horticulture, Agronomy, or Plant Science from a reputable university in Kenya.
Minimum degree classification: Second Class Upper Division.
Skills:
Basic understanding of field flower production.
Strong initiative, willingness to learn, and ability to follow procedures.
Good English communication skills (spoken and written).
Other:
Full-time commitment for six months.

Pathway to Permanent Role
Program Review (6 months): Successful completion may qualify you for a full-time Production Supervisor position. Performance and effort throughout the internship are key to success.
